The County Assembly of Nakuru has commenced a program to ensure all Wards have Ward Offices to strengthen grassroots access.
The program has officially been launched which entailed the rollout of newly constructed Ward Offices
This is a major step aimed at enhancing public access to leadership, improving service delivery and deepening grassroots representation.
The exercise, led by the Speaker and Chair of the County Assembly Service Board (CASB), Joel Karuri Maina, alongside Board Members Eddy Kiragu, Glaris Chepkirui, MCA Benard Gatuso and MCA John Macharia, began with the official opening of four offices in Keringet, Mau Narok, Waseges and Dundori wards.
The Maai Mahiu office, which is the fifth to be completed and fully equipped, will be launched in the coming days.
“These offices are not just buildings but centres for civic engagement, accountability and public service. They mark our commitment to take leadership to the grassroots,” said Speaker Maina.
The Speaker commended the Board for its unity and vision, thanked the MCAs for their patience, and recognized the Assembly Secretariat for steering the project to implementation.
The rollout will continue progressively across the remaining 50 wards in subsequent financial years, to ensure every ward in Nakuru County has a fully functional office to serve its electorate.
According to Board members, the ward offices will act as strategic points for public participation, community mobilisation, and development coordination.
“These ward offices are a real pillar of devolution, bringing services closer and boosting grassroots accountability. We thank the CASB Chair and the entire Assembly for making it happen,” said the benefiting MCAs.
