Njoro Member of Parliament Charity on Sunday morning condoled with family whose 14 years old son was attacked and killed by hyenas from Lake Nakuru National Park Naishi Game Park.
As a mother, the emotional Kathambi condemned the incident.
According to Kathambi, this was beyond explanation as before, residents only reported about goats and sheep attacks.
The third term serving Lawmaker was categorical that human wildlife conflicts must come to an end.
She pointed out that it was wrong for KWS to allow some few officers mess the whole system.
“This morning, I condoled with family of Peris Mwangi who lost her beloved child who was attacked and killed by hyenas at their home Sinendet village, Gichobo location, Lare Ward,” stated Kathambi.
The minor is said to have disappeared from their home in the village on Thursday July 16, 2025.
The Lawmaker called upon the Kenya wildlife services to help address the menace of hyenas less more children in the area are attacked as they head to and back from school.
