Nakuru-based MID-TOWN Reproductive Health and Youth Friendly Clinic has partnered with Tiko Organization in a program aimed to address ‘Triple Threat’ among youth and young adults.
‘Triple Threat’ is a reproductive health phrase that refers to uninteded pregnancy, HIV, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence(GBV).
In an interview with famousnakuru.co.ke on Monday February 9, 2026, Ms Rose Akinyi- a Clinician and Founder MID-TOWN Reproductive Health and Youth Friendly Clinic, lauded the partnership saying it will go a long way in addressing the triple threat among youth.
She noted that the program has come at the right time, owing to the alarming statistics on unintended pregnancies, HIV and GBV among young adults.
“At present we have a program on preventing uninteded pregnancies, and HIV among youth and young adults. The program has come up due to the demand that has been there,” she stated.
According to Ms Rose, MID-TOWN Clinic is one of the facilities offering the services for free through the partnership with Tiko Organization.
The facility founded in 2011, prides in the high standard services when it comes to matters reproductive health as it has well trained personel and accredited by Reproductive Health Network Kenya(RHNK).
Ms Akinyi says her joy is helping youth and young adults overcome barriers to care and strengthening their resilience so they can confidently shape their future.
Sentiments echoed by Peter Ondieki- a registered Nurse working at MID-TOWN RH Clinic.
He noted that research has shown that many young girls have continued to be affected by unintended pregnancies, and HIV infections and Sexually Transmitted Infections(STIs).
This, he attributed to the high poverty levels in the society.
He was however quick to point out that the partnership between MID-TOWN Clinic, Tiko Organization and other stakeholders will real help address the triple Threat.
“This partnership is key in protecting girls, youth and the young adults. At MID-TOWN Clinic we have been interacting with youth and we can assure them of the quality sevices and up to standard and ethical being a registred facility, ” he said.
