Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai has called for concerted effort in addressing drugs and substance abuse among young people.
He pointed out that drugs and substance abuse remains a challenge among young people.
The Lawmaker regretted that society has continued to inter young people who could have contributed to the economy.
He was speaking in his Constituency over the weekend during the burial of a young man Victor Lang’at.
“It cannot be that we are burying our young people here in Kuresoi North be abuse of alcohol and drugs. This is very painful to the family and society at large. No parent should go through this,” he stated.
The vocal youthful Lawmaker used the burial service to call on young people to value their lives.
According to Mutai, young people have freedom, but the freedom comes with responsibility.
“As youth, your lives are key. You should get involved in activities that will transform your lives,” stated MP Mutai.
The Legislator reiterated the need for concerted effort in addressing illicit brew, drugs and substance abuse among youth.
He urged parents, leaders, elderly persons and youth to join hands in the fight against drugs and substance abuse.
