How MP Arama defended Governor Kihika in a meeting attended by CS Murkomen

Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama on Wednesday March 19, 2025 boldly told off critics of Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika.

In his speech during the launch of National Mobile ID registration outreach program in Nakuru, MP Arama was categorical that Governor Kihika is on maternity leave and should be respected for the same which is a right for every female civil servant.

According to Arama, maternity leave is maximum 6 months and minimum 3 months as per the laws.

He added that there has never been a gap in the way the county government of anakuru runs.

The third term serving Lawmaker stated that the governor left mechanisms in place and there has never been a gap in terms of service delivery to the people.

“We all know Governor Kihika went for maternal leave and can take up to 6 months, so why the unnecessary noice? As far as ai know there has never been a gap in Nakuru, the Deputy Governor is there and the mechanisms of service delivery are also in place. Let us give governor time and she will come back soon,” stated Arama.

It will be recalled that through a memo, Governor Kihika made a communication indicating that she was on maternity leave and that the Deputy Governor David Kones was in charge until further notice.
