Governor Nyaribo demands apology from Media House over ‘misleading information’

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has demanded an apology from Nation Media Group over what he termed misleading article and poster published on January 22, 2024.

A statement from the Governor’s Press Unit undersigned by Director of Communication Beatrice Obwocha, reveals that the Governor is demanding retraction and apology from the Media House.
The article alleged that Governor Nyaribo had ‘blacklisted those who did not vote for him’  from benefiting from county bursary.
“At no point did H.E Nyaribo  make such comments, and the dissemination of this false information is seen as an attempt to tarnish his image among Nyamira residents and Kenyans at large,” reads part of the statement.
The Governor demanded immediate retraction of the article and the poster plus a public apology from the Media House for publishing such false and  misleading information that could harm his reputation.
Governor Nyaribo called on Journalists to ensure responsible journalism.
By the time of publishing this article, a communication from Director of Communication and Head of Governor Nyaribo ‘s Press Unit Beatrice Obwocha revealed that the Media House had pulled down the posters.
