The county government of Nakuru is working towards ensuring a condusive environment for matatu sector.
This was revealed on Tuesday by Governor Susan Kihika when she held a consultative meeting with matatu owners, operators, and stage crews.
The meeting was aimed at exploring ways of improving operations in Nakuru City’s Central Business District while maintaining the order and vibrancy of the growing city.
According to Kihika, Key issues raised included street lighting, road condition, insecurity, and the increasing number of street families.
The Governor used the meeting to assure the sector that her administration is working with the National Government to address these concerns, especially on matters of safety, adding that no resident or business should operate in fear.
“My administration remains committed to working with the matatu sector and all stakeholders to promote a safe, business-friendly environment that supports growth, stability, and lasting development in Nakuru,” stated Governor Kihika.
