Governor Kihika affirms her administration’s effort towards scaling up Vocational training Education

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has affirmed her administration’s effort towards scaling up Vocational training Education.

Kihika says this will go a long way in empowering youth within the county.

Speaking on Thursday October 8, 2026 during her tour of Muitethia Polytechnic in Biashara Ward of Naivasha, Kihika said the Vocational Centres play key in equipping young people with practical skills.

The skills, she said enables the youth to engage in sustainable income-generating activities.

Muitethia Polytechnic currently offers courses in tailoring, electrical installation, mechanics and beauty therapy.

The County Government under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika is providing Sh30,000 in capitation per learner, in addition to bursary support.

Kihika announced that her administration intends to expand the range of courses offered at the institution.

During the event, Governor Kihika also assured that in addition to providing fortified uji in all public ECDE centres and employing more teachers, from January, her administration will begin providing free uniforms to all learners in public ECDE centres.

Later on Kihika who was accompanied by CECMs John Kihagi, Zipporah Wambui, Nelson Maara, Stephen Kuria, Michael Kamau and Roselyn Mungai; Chief Officers Joyce Ncece and Samuel Ndegwa; and MCAs Elijah Mwaura and Francis Kuria, inspected inspected water, road, agriculture and trade projects in Biashara Ward.

She at the same time urged residents to take advantage of low-interest loans available through the Sh100 million Wezesha Fund.
