Former Unionist Dr. Isaac Kinity weighs in on future of Kenya as a nation with worrying political trends

Former Kenya Union of Civil Servants Secretary General Dr Isaac Newton Kinity has finally weighed in on the future of Kenya as a nation.

In a phone interview with one of the Radio Radio Stations, Dr Kinity who currently resides in USA noted that Kenya is headed the wrong direction due to ongoing political wrangles.

The former Unionist has sounded a strong warning to Kenyans urging the communities to be careful in the current political regime.

On the appointment of Prof Kithure Kindiki as Deputy President by President William Ruto, Dr. Kinity described the move as ‘disaster for all Kenyans’.

According to him, the move paves way for suffering, oppression, and intimidation in the country.

He added that doing away with Rigathi Gachagua was to enable installation of a loyal person to drive the ‘personal’ agenda of President Ruto.

“The impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had little to do with his misconduct but was instead part of a larger plot to install a more loyal figure in the government, someone capable of driving Ruto’s personal agenda,” he stated.

Dr. Kinity is of the view that President Ruto saw Gachagua as an obstacle to his goals and replaced him with Kithure Kindiki.

The former Unionist alleges that President William Ruto has been using key Kikuyu leaders, including Gachagua, to weaken the Kikuyu community and that with Gachagua removed, Ruto has found a more dependable ally in Kindiki.

While faulting the appointment of Kindiki as person to replace Gachagua, Dr.Kinity argued that Kindiki was directly involved in the brutal crackdowns on demonstrators in March, where youth from Gen Z movement were killed.

“Kindiki has been instrumental in carrying out Ruto’s orders. Kindiki’s swift rise to the Deputy President position is a reward for his involvement in these oppressive acts. The appointment of Kindiki, is a signal that Ruto is preparing to implement even harsher measures, with Kindiki at the forefront,” he stated.

With the unfolding, Dr. Kinity has urged Kenyan Lawmakers to open their eyes to what is unfolding before them.

According to him, many of the MPs are blindly following President Ruto without fully understanding the consequences of their support adding that they will regret it in the end as they might face serious backlash from their constituents and the public at large.
