Nakuru County CECM for education Zippy Wambui has condemned the brutal murder of a Grade 9 learner Grace Nyarua.
In a statement, the CECM stated that Grace’s tragic death has left a community grieving and asking difficult questions.
The CECM added that the Grade 9 learner at Echariria Comprehensive School in Gilgil Sub county was brutally killed while on her way home from school, a journey that should have ended safely at her doorstep.
“Our hearts go out to her family, classmates and everyone who knew her,” she stated.
According to the CECM, beyond mourning, this tragedy must strengthen our resolve to protect our children, confront violence against girls and ensure that those responsible face justice.
She added that every child deserves to go to school, return home safely and grow up without fear and that Grace deserved that chance so do all children.
