DCP Nakuru Branch SG Simon Nasieku claims his life is in danger

Simon Sangale Nasieku- the Branch Secretary Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Nakuru now says his life is in danger.

While terming it a matter of grave concern, Nasieku says he is fearing for his life.

“I write to formally bring to your attention a matter of grave concern regarding my personal safety and the apparent intimidation directed towards me,” he stated.

According to Nasieku, on the evening of 6th May 2026 at approximately 8:00p.m., he was informed by a close associate who operates a business near his place of business (Karimbux Baringo Stage) an area he(Nasieku) frequently visits that a group of 4 plainclothes officers, reportedly armed, arrived at the location inquiring about his whereabouts.

He further states that the individuals specifically asked, “Where is Ole Nasieku? We want him.”

At the time of their visit, Nasieku was not present.

“This incident has caused me significant apprehension, particularly in light of recent events,” he says.

Nasieku adds that he strongly believes that this act of intimidation is connected to a public address he recently made in which he openly criticised the Nakuru County Police Commander for what he termed as misuse of power, especially concerning the recent arrest and alleged intimidation of Hon. Assumpta Wangui Muiruri by state agencies.

As a law-abiding citizen and a public servant committed to democratic principles, Nasieku says he finds such actions not only unlawful but also a direct affront to the freedoms of expression and political participation guaranteed under the Constitution.

He is now calling on the relevant authorities to:

1. Investigate the identity and intent of the said individuals.

2. Assure his safety and protection from any form of harassment or unlawful arrest.

3. Uphold the rule of law and ensure that state machinery is not used to intimidate dissenting voices and human rights defenders.

“I remain available to cooperate fully with any lawful process, but I strongly object to any form of extrajudicial intimidation. Kindly treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.
