Dandelion Africa’s mentored CBO now using Art to address teenage pregnancies

For many years art has been used more of as an entertainment tool.

However, after mentorship from Sarambei-based Non-governmental Organization Dandelion Africa, A Community Based Organization dubbed Talanta Production is taking art to another level.

The CBO that is made of several youth, is now using art as a tool for advocacy against teenage pregnancies.

“We engaged with theTalanta Production Community-Based Organization (CBO), which uses art to address teenage pregnancies,” reads a statement from Dandelion Africa.

By leveraging creative activities such as dancing and singing, they successfully attract youth to their newly established youth center in Mogotio.

The centre provides counseling services as well.

Additionally, they work closely with girls who have dropped out of school due to teenage pregnancy, alongside their parents, to facilitate their reintegration into the education system.

Talanta is one of the CBOs amongst a portfolio of 14 that Dandelion Africa NGO is mentoring under ‘Localization Within Program.’

Dandelion Africa’s support through capacity strengthening and financial support saw Talanta CBO set up the Centre.
