The Government of Kenya will continue to support talents in various sporting disciplines.
Affirming the same, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Human Capital Development and Special Programmes Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku rallied youth to take advantage of the available resources and oportunities from Government.
CS Ruku was speaking in Njoro during the launch of area MP Charity Kathambi Peace Tournament.
According to Ruku, Government is injecting resources in sports and sports science.
This, he said will enhance and reinforce sports facilities that support talents.
“The government is committed to injecting resources in sports and sports science to reinforce sports facilities that support talents as part of socio-economic transformation of the country, jobs creation and growth of our national GDP,” he said.
Sentiments echoed by MP Kathambi who called on youth to rally behind government and tap into the many opportunities.
Kathambi also used the moment to laud the energy that young people have.
She reiterated the importance of sports in fostering peace in society.
“Our youths are fantastic, the talent on display was impressive, and it was encouraging to see how sports continue to bring our youth and communities together,” she said.
“The pursuit of stronger, integrated, peaceful Community, remains our powerful shared dream,” she said.
The event was also attended by Njoro sub-County DCC, Governor representatives, Mauche MCA, Mau Narok MCA among other leaders.
