
In quest to improve Sanitation and service delivery, the County Government of Nakuru has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) for Free Area Market in Nakuru East sub county.
This even as the county government affirmed it commitment towards improving sanitation and service delivery in market spaces.
The purpose of this MoU is to establish a structured and efficient system for the management and maintenance of public toilets to ensure hygiene, accessibility, and sustainability.
This initiative is guided by the Nakuru County Public Markets Policy of 2023, which provides a clear framework for the operation and upkeep of market facilities.

CECM for Trade Hon. Stephen Kuria emphasized the importance of partnerships between the county government and market leadership in delivering dignified services to traders and the public.
The event was witnessed by Chief Officer for Trade Mr. Benard Sang, Ms. Veronica from the Department of Trade, Mr. Charles Maina (Chairman, Mitumba Section), Mr. Michael Maina (Jua Kali Section), and Mr. Gabriel Wambugu (Chairman, Fresh Food Market).
According to CECM, this collaborative approach marks a significant step towards creating cleaner, safer, and more inclusive trading environments for all.
