Nakuru County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara has announced the ban of all activities in Logman Forest in Likia, Njoro.
This, he said is in a move by security team from both Narok and Nakuru Counties to restore sanity in the conflict probe area of Likia.
Speaking on Saturday September 21, 2024 during event to mark International Day of Peace in Nakuru, Kibaara warned that those who will be found engaging in any activities in the forest in Likia Njoro will face the full wrath of the law.
“As we speak now we have banned all activities in Logman Forest in Likia, Njoro. No activity will be allowed,” he stated.
This, even as the County Commissioner who is also the County Security Committee Chair revealed that three people are nursing arrow wounds after they were shot by people in Logman forest in Njoro.
According to him, this is suspected to be caused by conflict over forest resources between communities.
He however assured that Security has been beefed up and all activity within the forest banned until conflict is resolved.
