Saccos play a crucial role in the implementation of the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Co-operatives Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui says many Saccos in the country have continued to align with the interests of the common citizens among them farmers at grassroot level.
The CS was speaking on Monday February 26, 2024 when he received the Board of Directors and management of Boresha DT Sacco led by Chief Executive Officer Jacob Mengich and Honorary Secretary Mr John Lessonet, who paid him a courtesy call.
“I am delighted with the fact that Boresha is aligning its products to meet the interests of farmers: dairy and maize, tea and coffee growers among others especially in the North Rift region,” he stated.
The meeting’s deliberations centred on areas of collaboration.
The delegation also made a brief on Boresha Sacco’s upcoming events including the Annual Delegates Meeting (ADM) and the opening of a new branch in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
Founded by teachers, Boresha DT Sacco which was initially domiciled in Baringo County has grown in leaps and bounds and today has presence in seven counties.
The organization has witnessed tremendous growth over the years, recording a growth of about 10 percent in the last one year.
“I would like to assure Boresha DT SACCO Society LTD of our support as a Ministry and wish them success in their future plans,” stated Chelugui.
