Barut-based Ubunifu Sports Academy scoops 2 Awards at the concluded Rausha Kipaji Cup Tournament

Ubunifu Sports Academy from Barut, Nakuru West recorded best results in the just concluded Rausha Kipaji Cup Tournament at Nakuru High and Nakuru Girls in Nakuru City.

In a statement to Newsrooms on Sunday 21, 2024, Executive Director Joab Okello revealed that the Academy took 4 categories in the tournament;  Under 13 boys drawn from Grade 4-6, Under 15 boys drawn from Grade 7 and 8, Under 20 drawn from High school.

The teams incorporated young talents from schools in Barut and Rhonda slums.
Despite the players coming from humble backgrounds, they demonstrated their  prowess while in the field.

Ubunifu Sports Academy that was started three months ago, backed 2 awards in the tournament; 3rd runners up for the U20 girls as well as most valuable player for U20 Zawadi.

“Our U20 girls emerged 3rd runners up.We also received an award for most valuable player for U20 boys,” states Okello.

Being a young Academy, this win saw the entire Ubunifu Sports Academy join into celebrations and later received as heroes by their parents back in Barut.

Ubunifu Sports Academy Executive Director Joab Okello lauded the team for showing exemplary performance despite being their first time to participate in such a tournament.
He appreciated parents for contributing towards food,Tumaini House school for offering their school bus,Ndovu cement for sponsoring one team,Mitch from USA for cash donation towards part of registration fees and the coaches who worked tirelessly to prepare the players for the win.
