Kabazi Residents Spokesperson Dr Peter Mbae has threatened to take a legal action against Geothermal Development Company and Ken Gen over what he terms as proposed forceful eviction of locals to pave way for GDC project.
Mbae who is also former MCA Kabazi, says the proposed acquisition means rendering residents landless.
He faulted GDC and Ken Gen for purporting that there are parcels of land that are lying idle.
According to Mbae, if the plan is allowed to go on, then several residents in villages such as Kirima, Marogo, Rigogo, Arahuka and Kipngochoch will be rendered landless.
The opinion leader who now serves as the Secretary Planning and Economic Affairs within DCP Party, was categorical that there is need for consultation with community members before any action is taken.
It should be noted that GDC in collaboration with KenGen is planning to acquire additional land in Menengai for drilling.
