
Ubunifu Sports Academy from Barut, Nakuru West recorded best results in the just concluded Rausha Kipaji Cup Tournament in Nakuru City.
This was the 6th edition of the tournament, but for Ubunifu Sports Academy it was their 2nd time participation.
Over 480 teams participated in this tournament.

Ubunifu Sports Academy emerged champions in the Under 9 category demonstrating their prowess as a Sports Academy in Nakuru.
The team won plate Cup finals of U9 category with their youngest champions making the Academy proud at Rausha Kipaji tournament Cup.
The U15 girls also won the 1st Runners Cup in the tournament.

Ubunifu Sports Academy’s Enock Kwaka was the Top scorer who earned the overall Golden boot award for U9 category.
He is brother to David Agoya who earned a scholarship opportunity Crater Montessori academy through his talent and he is one of Ubunifu Sports Academy U13 defensive player.
“We give chances to all and these two are off to a great future succeeding in soccer and academics,” states Ubunifu Sports Academy Director Joab Okello.
It should be noted that the Overall Most Valuable Player Janet is an orphan living at St.Luke’s children home in Barut.
According to Okello, this is not just an award but a door towards greatness.
He added that the Academy will continue to support Janet by all means to be a testimony that anyone can become anything regardless of their situation.
“The journey to the victory of our young champions was greatly contributed by the Goalkeepers who did a job that could compare to the wall of Jericho for lack of better description,” stated Okello.
He also appreciated the paramedics for the good work done.
According to him, their services also contributed to the good performance.
“Special appreciations to our Paramedics who were present at every match sometimes several matches happening concurrently but no single time their services were needed and they didn’t show up. Big up guys and feel appreciated our ‘Team Doctors’ ,” stated Okello.
Despite having started a year ago, the team continues to shine in various tournaments in Nakuru County.
It should be noted that the team is a charitable football program and depend on well wishers.
According to Director Joab, some of those who have stood with the team include Mitch,David and John from Rotary club of Davis Sunrise,Ndovu Cement, Hitesh Pindoria and Sonny Khalisia through their donations towards registration of the 5 teams that participated in the 6th edition.
He also lauded the coaches led by Team Manager Wilson Owaga and his assistant Dominic Kimutai for the good job.
