State-of-the-art sports complex to be constructed in Nakuru

A state-of-the-art sports complex shall soon be constructed in Nakuru County.

This was revealed on Tuesday, February 25, 202,5 as a team from the Ministry of Sports led by the Secretary of Administration for Sport, Mr Evans Achoki toured Gilgil Stadium in Gilgil, Slaughterhouse Grounds and Kihoto Grounds in Naivasha.

The visit was to assess the best location for a state-of-the-art sports complex.

The project will include a football and rugby pitch, a volleyball court, running tracks, and a social hall.

This initiative aligns with Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to developing sports infrastructure, nurturing local talent, and providing quality public amenities for our youth and the community.

During the visit, the team also engaged youth at Kihoto Grounds.

The team was joined by the County Secretary Dr Samuel Mwaura, CEC John Kihagi, Lakeview ward MCA Alex Mbugua, Naivasha Municipal Manager Daniel Nderitu and Martin Gichinga from the Governor’s Delivery Unit.
