Nakuru County to address challenges facing traders at Bargain

The County Government of Nakuru will address challenges facing traders at famous Bargain Trading centre within CBD.

The move is aimed to support local entrepreneurs.

This was revealed as County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Stephen Kuria, held a consultative meeting with traders of Bargain, in Biashara Ward, Nakuru East Sub-County.

The meeting was towards addressing their concerns and discuss pressing issues that impact their businesses.

During the discussion, Kuria assured the traders that the county government is committed to resolving the challenges raised, including high license costs, inadequate working space, garbage management, insufficient car parking, and poor street lighting.

He emphasized that improving these areas is essential for creating an enabling environment where businesses can thrive.

The CECM further encouraged traders to remain engaged and share their insights to help shape policies that will ultimately benefit their businesses and the community at large

The meeting was also attended by Nakuru East License Officer, Mr. Johnson Kariuki, who clarified that license fees are determined based on stall sizes.

He added that he, together with other Licensing officers, will conduct assessments of the stalls to ensure fair and appropriate licensing charges.

The meeting underscored the county’s dedication to fostering a thriving business environment across the County.

By working closely with traders and addressing their concerns, the county government under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika aims to enhance the overall business landscape, ensuring that local entrepreneurs can continue to prosper.
