Newly inaugurated Nakuru County Investment Board urged to market Nakuru locally, internationally

The newly inaugurated Nakuru County Investment Board has been urged to seek investment opportunities for Nakuru.

The Board has also been tasked to ensure marketing of Nakuru both locally and internationally.

The call was made on Friday October 25 by Governor Susan Kihika as she inaugurated the Board chaired by an investment expert, Mr Martin Kariuki.

“I task the team to help attract both local and international investors to our Great County of Nakuru,” stated Kihika.

The five-member board, assisted by three County officers as ex-officio members, brings on board expertise from the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Nakuru Business Association, and Nakuru Chamber of Commerce to drive the aspect of investments to create jobs and a vibrant economy for the people of Nakuru.

The other 4 members include Santosh Devaraj, Peris Mbuthia, Prof Abdi Yakub Guliye and Jayen Dodhia.

Speaking during the event,  Mr. Santosh Devaraj-investment board member welcomed the initiative of Governor Susan Kihika and county officials.

He pointed out that Nakuru has got great potential in two million populated County.

According to Santosh, these areas of potential include in healthcare, tourism, industries, agriculture , Information technology.

He reiterated that Nakuru county has skilled manpower which is added advantage to bring potential investors.

Kihika used the moment to assure the board of her support and challenged them to identify investment opportunities and market Nakuru County both locally and internationally as a well-endowed, strategically located and diverse county with a business-friendly regime.

According to Kihika, Nakuru is, in all aspects, the preferred destination for Investments.
