It is a new dawn for Visoi Ward as youthful Edwin Onimi has declared interest in the MCA’s seat come 2027.
Born and raised in Nakuru County, Mr. Onimi believes it is time for new blood of leadership in Visoi Ward.
The 37 year old Onimi has passion for charity work.
He is currently the Executive Director at Women Like Us, Co-director – Nakuru Entrepreneur Awards, and Founder of Onimi Awards.
A family man with two kids, Onimi believes in transformational leadership that is aimed at empowering citizens and finding solutions to daily challenges.
His experience in civil society spaces for more than 10 years has seen him understand challenges facing citizens.
His work has had great impact in Flamingo ward, Kiamaina ward and now Visoi ward with counties of operation being Nakuru and Baringo county.
He says, when elected MCA for Visoi Ward, he will work towards empowering people, changing lives and promoting livelihoods.
“Leadership is all about impacting the lives of people and I’m up to the task,” stated Onimi.
He will be contesting Visoi Ward MCA seat on Democracy for the Citizens Party(DCP).
According to Onimi, Visoi ward is one of the largest wards in Rongai Constituency yet in a very bad state.
He cited poor education facilities, lack of electricity connections, bad leadership and increased poverty level.
“Visoi is my new home, and felt it’s my responsibility to empower my people, bring change and help my community thrive. We managed to do so in other wards, and so will we do in VISOI,” he says.
He believes in a thriving and empowered visoi community.
Onimi is already involved in various activities aimed at transforming the Ward.
Just last week, he mobilized members towards fixing one of the worst roads in Jirani Mwema estate.
This is one of his flagship project in Visoi Ward.
