Nakuru’s Iron Lady Asumpta Wangui has slammed Kenyan MPs for failing to safeguard the interests of the people.
Addressing press in Nakuru, Asumpta who is eyeing the Nakuru Woman Rep seat in DCP, was categorical that the current Lawmakers have failed in their mandate.
She pointed out that the current Parliament is in business with President William Ruto.
“They are in business with President Ruto. They pass laws after they are bribed with huge money, ” she stated.
Asumpta added that as things stand now, the Lawmakers cannot make any decisions without being bribed.
She wondered whether the Legislators were elected for the same rather than representing the interests of the people.
According to Asumpta, the MPs are not true to Kenyans especially after President Ruto stated that Parliament is corrupt.
She added that the move by MPs to have President Ruto come to Parliament with evidence over corruption, is just a game to blindfold Kenyans.
“MPs should stop playing games with Kenyans. They are telling us President should come to Parliament with evidence over bribe claims, that is nul and void with the current Parliament,” she said.
She challenged MPs to be serious and focus on their roles of legislation, oversight and representation.
According to Asumpta, the MPs have a mandate but they have chosen to do otherwise by engaging in bribery syndicates.
She stated that if they have no confidence in President, the law is very clear on the measures and steps that they have to take towards his ouster.
