The event saw the CHPs under Nakuru East Network engage in various games away from their busy schedule of serving community households.
During the event, CHPs were also urged to register as agents of SHA to aid in household registration on SHA universal healthcare.
Nakuru East Sub county CHPs focal person Wilfred Wachira noted that SHA registration is key in ensuring a healthy society.
“I want to urge all the CHPs to ensure that they register as SHA agents and help achieve the government agenda,” he stated.
Nakuru East Sub county Public Health Nurse Monica Muthoni called on CHPs to ensure all children who were not immunized during COVID-19 pandemic are immunized.
“We know very well that during COVID-19 pandemic some children did not get immunization and there we should reach out to the households and ensure they are now immunized,” she stated.
She lauded the role played by CHPs in prevention of diseases at grassroot level.
Sentiments echoed by Reproductive Health Champions Organization(RHCO) Executive Director Martin Lunalo.
Lunalo called for the need for the welfare of CHPs to be taken into consideration through policies.
He also urged the government to ensure that CHPs are respected and that stipend is addressed.
“We should continue to ensure that CHPs are taken good care of because they play key role in ensuring that our community is healthy,” stated Lunalo.
Maurice Otieno and Francis Shinali on their part lauded the Nakuru MCAs Fadhili Msuri(Biashara), Neto Sakwa(Kivumbini) and David Muraya(Flamingo) for supporting CHPs with refreshments during the activity.
