Nakuru based MIDRIFT HURINET has reiterated the need for enhanced collaboration towards peace building, accountability and community policing.
This was affirmed by a team led by Executive Director Mr. Joseph Omondi that paid a courtesy call to the Rift Valley Administration Police Commander Mr. Atiagaga Amadadi John.
The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration on peace building, accountability, and community-centred policing.
According to Omondi, multi-sectoral coordination is key in addressing security challenges.
The NGO is planning to train 60 officers from 14 counties in Early Warning and Response, Conflict Mitigation, and Peace building.
In addition, a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will institutionalize the partnership, extending it beyond the Rift Valley to a national framework.
The initiative reflects a forward-looking approach to police reforms, embedding accountability, empathy, and customer-centred service delivery into policing practice.
By integrating tailored modules into the AP Training Centre, MIDRIFT HURINET seeks to strengthen trust between the police and the communities they serve, positioning security as a shared public good grounded in human rights and dignity.
