
Menengai East Ward Member of the County Assembly of Nakuru Wilson Mwangi Wajeff has called for need to have more allocation towards sports.
The MCA noted that sports play key role in shaping the society hence should not be left behind in prioritization on matters budget.
He was speaking when he joined officials during the opening session of training of national coaches and trainers of volleyball at Eastmore school, in Menengai East Ward, Nakuru County.
The MCA who has declared interest in the Nakuru East Parliamentary seat come 2027, maintained that sports has continued to play key role in matters peace and cohesion.
“By investing in sports, we are not only creating opportunities for our young people to excel but also promoting a healthier lifestyle and a stronger community,” the MCA stated.
He called on County Governments to ensure more sporting amenities are established as one way of promoting and nurturing talents.
This in turn, the MCA said will go a long way in addressing challenges among them drugs and substance abuse among young people.
