Land disputes has been cited among key security threats in Narok County on the Nkararo and the Narok-Migori Boarder.
Other issues that the security team is prioritizing in Narok include land related fraud, defilement, robberies and muggings, especially in Narok Town.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki says the security team in Narok is well equipped to address the same.
“The Government expects each public officer to be individually accountable in their delivery of services to the public. Security and law enforcement officials are expected to exhibit even greater accountability, given the sensitive role they play in securing our Country,” he said.
The CS spoke at Narok Town on Monday March 25, 2024 when he finalised a County Security Appraisal meeting with the County Heads of Security agencies.
He encouraged them to upscale the war on illicit alcohol, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
According to Kindiki, Nationally, 12,150 premises which were selling alcohol without licenses and another 6,500 which were licensed but had breached the rule prohibiting proximity to learning institutions have been shut.
In addition, 14 illegal distilleries have been shut down and their production capacity destroyed.
He assured that all premises licensed contrary to applicable National Law will be shut.
