Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has reiterated that together with her colleague female governors-G7 are committed towards ensuring gender parity and inclusivity in their respective counties.
Kihika spoke during national event to celebrate International Women’s Day at Moi Stadium in Embu which was presided over by President William Ruto.
“I and my colleague under the Women Governors’ Caucus, G7 are committed to promoting gender parity and inclusivity in our respective counties,” she said.
She lauded this year’s theme “Investing in Women Accelerate Progress”.
According to her, it strikes at the centrality of a woman’s role in development.
Kihika also used the moment to celebrate all women trailblazers who were given awards in their respective fields.
“We need to encourage inclusion of women at decision making tables, and empowering our women to attain their capacity in moving our society forward,” she stated.
