The Ag. Inspector General National Police Service Mr. Gilbert Masengeli has warned Nane Nane demonstrators against invading protected areas.
The demonstrations are scheduled for Thursday August 8, 2024.
In a Press briefing, the Police cautioned the public that criminals planning to infiltrate the demonstrations.
Mr. Masengeli further cautioned “members of public against contravening the Kenya Civil Aviation Act and Protected Areas Act by avoiding trespass of protected areas such as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and State House/Lodges.”
He added that those planning to exercise their rights of participation in public demonstrations should comply with the attendant laws.
The Generation Z-led peaceful demonstrations have been going on in various parts of the country as a way to put Government of the day on toss.
The move saw Finance Bill 2024 withdrawn after President William Ruto heed to pressure.
It also led to the dissolving of the Kenya Kwanza cabinet that saw the President form what he termed is broad based Government that saw some members of the opposition nominated as Cabinet Secretaries.
The vetting process took part last week and the House adopted 19 of the candidates rejecting only one nominee.
