The Biblical narrative ‘Can anything good come from Nazareth?’, no longer applies for Barut Centre in Nakuru West Sub County.
The Biblical Verse in John 1:4 implied that Nazareth was considered a place where nothing positive could originate until came the Messiah Jesus Christ.
This is a similar script for Barut Centre that has always been seen as a dusty centre with less development.
However, the scenario is drastically changing day in day out.
A recent visit to the centre by this writer reveals that even though it remains dusty during sunny season, more great things are coming up.
From Ubunifu Computer Hub at the heart of the centre to the Ubunifu Sports Academy courtesy of Hopewell Secondary school alumni Mr. Joab Okello.
The two facilities are now transforming young people in the area in terms of technology as well as soccer talents.
Mr. Okello reveals that his is to give back to the community that nurtured his humble beginnings.
“We want to help the community here in Barut and ensure young people realize their talents,” he stated.
The Ubunifu Sports Academy has nurtured Ubunifu Pride FC who were crowned Champions Nakuru West FKF League 2023/2024 prompting the team to be promoted to County League.
The Barut Centre also prides in Scholl’s such as Barut Primary, Tumaini Secondary School and Hopewell Secondary.
However, the latest kid at the centre is Nakuru View Park Gardens.
Situated near Barut Primary School, the entertainment and facility is one of its kind and the first to be established in the area by an investor and son of Barut.
The coming up of the facility is a plus to the hospitality industry in Barut.
Famousnakuru.co.ke has established that the name Nakuru View Park Gardens(NVP Gardens) is possibly owing to its proximity to the Lake Nakuru National Park from Barut end giving a new life to Barut.
