How MCA Sakwa won the hearts of residents at Public Participation for FY 2026/27 projects

Kivumbini Ward MCA Neto Sakwa won the hearts of residents who turned up in large numbers on Thursday April 9, 2026 for Public Participation and proposal of projects for Financial Year 2026/27.

The MCA in a civilised way used better part of the start of the meeting to respond to all questions raised by residents concerning various previous projects.

He gave clarifications on the status of the previous projects painting a clear picture of how the budget process is done at the County level.

According to him, delays in projects are always caused by various factors among them the late disbursement of funds from National Government to Counties.

He was responding to a question raised by one of the resident as to why some projects in the previous Financial Year have not been completed.

Sakwa highlighted that projects implementation is a process that goes through stages, but pegged on disbursement of resources from National Government.

The MCA at the same time assured residents of Kivumbini Ward that his leadership remains open to positive criticism that aims at making Kivumbini a better Ward than before.

During the meeting, residents proposed several projects among them construction of modern kitchens at ECDE institutions in public schools within the Ward, Installation of more street lights, Construction of drainage system at lower Kivumbini Ward ( Manyani), rehabilitation and construction of New sewer lines and youth and women empowerment.

Those with memorandums and proposals have upto Friday April 10, 2026 11:00 am to submit at sub county administrator office in Menengai Social Hall.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Vincent ( ECDE Supervisor NTE), Mr.Evans Ekaliche ( MPs representative), Madam Jedida Mwihacho( H/teacher Flamingo primary), Mr. John Odero ( Governor representative), Madam Caroline Mundia ( In charge NTE—Ministry of Livestock among others.
