The perennial ‘poor roads’ chorus in both Kuresoi North and Kuresoi South will be a thing of past following Governor Susan Kihika’s intervention.
Kihika noted that the two constituencies have had bad history when it comes to road network that has seen even in the past residents hold demonstrations.
She was however quick to point out that despite that having been the case in the past two regimes of devolved system in Nakuru, time is now that the challenge has to be addressed.
Kihika who spoke at St Joseph’s Minor Seminary in Molo on Saturday August 9, 2025 during consultative meeting with residents of Kuresoi North, jabbed the issue by calling on MCAs from Kuresoi North and Kuresoi South Constituencies to ensure priority is given to roads in their respective Wards.
The Governor also assured the MCAs from the said Constituencies that she will support them from the County Headquarters budget.
“I know this area even from past regimes has been having challenges of roads. But here the MCAs have to help me address this by ensuring that half of their Ward budget goes to the roads and then I will step in with budgetary allocation to help with markings,” stated Kihika.
The Governor who was accompanied by her Deputy David Kones, among other County staff, assured residents that Kuresoi North and Kuresoi South Constituencies which had been forgotten in the past regimes will be resuscitated through development.
She at the same reiterated her commitment to work with all the elected leaders from the area to ensure development for the people.
“We must work together as leaders to find solutions to the challenges facing our people,” said Kihika.
