Government on Sunday made a donation of food and non food items to Tipis fire tragedy victims in Njoro Constituency.
The donation was delivered by President William Ruto’s representative Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Geoffrey Ruku in company of Njoro MP Charity Kathambi.
Speaking during the event held at Tipis, MP Kathambi revealed that after the incident, she made a call to President William Ruto who agreed to assist.
Kathambi lauded the President for heeding to her call to come and assist the affected families.
“We have had issues here in Njoro and on this one I want to thank the President for coming to our aid for these families. Atleast they can now restore their lives after the devastating incident that happened,” stated Kathambi.
The second term serving Lawmaker also used the moment to highlight some of of the projects that she lobbied from national Government for her Constituency.
While noting that this is the first time the people of Tipis are seeing a CS in the area, Kathambi called on constituents and residents of Tipis to continue supporting the government and President Ruto’s Development agenda.
She at the same time told off individuals who have been spearheading hate speech in Tipis area and Njoro as a whole to desist.
According to her, Njoro is a cosmopolitan Constituency hence politics of hatred and tribalism have no room.
The Lawmaker also made a request to government to ensure titling program for residents of Tipis.
This, she said will enable development in the area.
“I want all my people of Tipis to get title deeds so that they can continue with their farming activities,” she said.
On his part CS Ruku reiterated government’s agenda for transforming the country.
The CS told off hatemongers and inciters of youth against government, adding that such lot have no development agenda and are out to cause havoc in the country.
He conveyed President Ruto’s goodwill in ensuring development in all parts of the country and ensuring that the country is peaceful.
“Kenya has no room for incitement and hatemongers. The government under President Ruto is focused on service delivery and nothing more,” he stated.
On the newly constituted IEBC, CS Ruku called on the team to remain focused and deliver on their mandate with wisdom and diligence without being swayed by naysayers.
