It was pomp and colour at PCEA Njoro Town church on Sunday December 1, 2024 as Elder Dorcas Githaiga was honoured on her retirement.
The retirement service by the PCEA Women Guild was also graced by Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DAP Kenya Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, Nakuru Woman Rep Liza Chelule, former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Senator Wambua of Kitui, MCAs among others.
It was a moment of gratitude and reflection to celebrate Elder Dorcas Githaiga’s years of unwavering service, dedication, and leadership in the church and community.
She has served the PCEA Church in various capacities including the position of Women’s Guild chair Lady.
Speaking during the ceremony, Kalonzo lauded the role of the church in shaping society.
He urged the church to remember the nation in prayers especially terming the atrocities happening as uncalled for.
Sentiments echoed by Eugene Wamalwa and Ferdinand Waititu.
Nakuru Woman Rep Liza Chelule who also graced the event commended Elder Dorcas’ commitment to faith and service that touched so many lives.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the congregation today, and I look forward to seeing how the church continues to thrive under God’s guidance. May Elder Dorcas be richly blessed in her retirement, and may we all continue to serve with the same passion and dedication,” she stated.
On her part, Dorcas Githaiga thanked the church and moreso Women Guild for supporting service.
