Egerton University will be host of the National Research Festival 2025.
Already several Partners have come up for the event and have declared their readiness to take part in the event.
Some of the partners include three key institutions: National Research Fund (NRF), Egerton University, and Nakuru County Government.
In a joint press conference at Egerton University Njoro main Campus, the partners announced that they are prepared for the upcoming National Research Festival.
The event is scheduled for August 18 to 22, 2025, at Egerton University Njoro main Campus.
Addressing during the presser, Prof. Dickson Andala, CEO of the National Research Fund reiterated the importance of the event in matters research and food production.
He noted that research plays vital role in ensuring food security in the country.
Prof Andala stated that the event will be a platform for all stakeholders to understand some of the renovation and even smart agriculture that helps combat climate change challenges.
On his part Prof. Isaac Kibwage, Vice Chancellor of Egerton University said the institution is ready to be a host to the key event.
He was quick to point out that all is set at the institution for the same.
Prof. Kibwage officially welcomed delegates, researchers, students, community members, and youth from across the country to participate in the festival.
He emphasized the significance of the event as a platform to showcase innovations, share knowledge, and foster collaboration among academia, industry, and communities.
“We as an institution, we are very grateful to have been selected as the host. This is a key event as it will serve as a platform to showcase innovation,” he stated.
Sentiments echoed by Nakuru County CECM for Agriculture Mr. Leonard Bor.
He pointed out that research and innovation is key in matters food production.
The CECM was categorical that the county government of Nakuru has continued to allocate funds towards the same as well as partner with research Institutions as a means to boost food production.
Others who joined the presser ncluded Prof. Vasey Mwaje, Chair of the National Research Festival, alongside members of the Egerton University Management Board.
The National Research Festival is expected to attract a wide range of participants from research institutions, universities, government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and the general public.
It should be noted that The National Research Fund Kenya (NRF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Egerton University to advance collaborative research, innovation, and national development.
Through this strategic partnership, NRF and Egerton will co-host the Kenya National Research Festival (KNRF 2025), enhance research infrastructure, promote dissemination of research outputs, and jointly mobilize resources to strengthen the national research landscape.
