Dr. Kinity wants IEBC to set up e-citizen system for diaspora voter registration

National Vision Party Presidential Candidate 2027 Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity wants Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) to set up e-citizen system for diaspora voter registration in the ongoing continous mass voter registration exercise.

In a Press Release, the Presidential hopeful pointed out that since the inception of the New Constitution in Kenya in 2010, Kenyans in the Diaspora have been struggling to have the IEBC register them as voters in vain.

The veteran good governance activist argued that corrupt politicians and the incompetent parliament have never bore any concerns about the Kenyans in the Diaspora in terms of being registered as voters.

Dr. Kinity termed the two as the obstacles that have been behind the reluctance to have Kenyans in the Diaspora registered as voters in view of the political and economic challenge they would pose as a block against the corrupt politicians who form powerful corruption cartels in Kenya.

“Today, the IEBC has no choice and has no reason at all not to register Kenyans in the Diaspora in great numbers in readiness for the 2027 election,” he said.

The National Vision Party Presidential Candidate noted that the introduction of the e-citizen in the application of Visa and in the application of new IDs and the lost IDs depicts there is a chance for the IEBC to register all Kenyans in the Diaspora very easily by creating an E-Citizen for the registration of them in the Diaspora for the purposes of voting in the election.

He added that there should be no more excuse from the IEBC to deny Kenyans in the Diaspora the room to vote in the elections of their nation.

This, he said will also see Kenyans in the diaspora to bargain for a slot in cabinet yo enable better representation.

“As registered voters, it will enable the Kenyans in the Diaspora to bargain for the representation by a CS who would be responsible for their negative issues abroad, which require government to government negotiations,” he said.

According to Dr. Kinity, many Kenyans have always been murdered and tortured in the Middle East and in many other nations in the world without any help from the Kenya government.

He added that others are being cheated with good jobs abroad by corrupt agents in Kenya, after which they find themselves in life-threatening jobs like in the war between Russia and Ukraine.

“I therefore urge the IEBC not to wait any longer but to set up an E-Citizen system for the Kenyans registration in the Diaspora immediately to avoid the excuse of lateness as time goes by,” he said.
