They are now calling on government to step in and bring to an end femicides.

Addressing press during the event, Reproductive Health Champions Organization(RHCO) Executive Director Mr. Martin Lunalo blamed the government over what he termed is sluggish in handling issues on matters lives lost.

He faulted the government following the 38 million compensation granted by courts to the families who lost their loved ones during GenZ anti-Finance Bill protests in 2024.

Lunalo also weighed in on the recent mass grave found in Kericho.

According to him, every life matters and the government should stop the narrative of unclaimed bodies.

“We are saying that all lives matter. The government should stop the excuses and live by the constitution to protect lives,” he said.

Lunalo also called on county government of Nakuru to pull up socks in healthcare services.

This, he said will help address the child mortality and women deaths in facilities as they seek services.

Sentiments echoed by human rights defender Melanie Otieno.

She called on government to act and ensure a taskforce that was formed to look into femicide cases is up and working.

“We are the lawyers and defenders of the children, girls and women who have continued to die as government watches,” she said.

Activist Daisy Achieng on her part called on all agencies tasked with protecting lives to up their roles.

She called on government to ensure protection of lives for all Kenyans.

“We will not relent in pushing and ensuring justice for all,” she said.
