The County Government of Siaya is mourning one of their staff member George Were who was involved in a tragic road accident at Delamere Centre on Monday evening.
Until his death, George Were was a Senior Driver with the County Government of Siaya.
The sad news of his death were conveyed by Governor James Orengo who revealed that the deceased was on official duty.
“It is a deeply sorrowful evening for Siaya County as we mourn the loss of one of our own, Senior Driver George Were who was involved in a tragic road accident at Delamere Center while on official duty en route to Naivasha,” stated Governor Orengo.
On behalf of the County Government of Siaya, Orengo extended heartfelt condolences to George’s family and prayed that they find strength and comfort during this painful time.
He also used the moment to wish a swift and full recovery to Chief Officer for Education, Mr. Richard Ogeda, Easter Okello of LREB and all other staff members who were injured in the accident.
“Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy,” stated Orengo.
