The DCP Economic Planning Secretary Dr Peter Mbae has faulted the 2025/2026 Budget read by CS John Mbadi on the floor of the National Assembly on Thursday..
In a presser in Nakuru, Dr Mbae who has also worked before as a policy maker said the Budget is not people friendly.
According to him, key dockets such as education and health have been denied required allocation.
He wondered why interior and defense dockets have received lion’s share of the budget.
According to Mbae, this might be connected to 2027 general polls.
He stated that the interior and defense dockets might have received lion’s share which will turn out into intimidation from the executive towards the 2027 elections.
Mbae also faulted the bill on cyber crime that is before National Assembly terming it a bill that will harrass Kenyans.
He revealed that government is making it easier for Kenya Revenue Authority to access private transactions for Kenyans via mpesa hence infringing in the private rights of citizens.
Mbae pointed out that the current budget read by CS Mbadi in Parliament has nothing to make Kenyans proud.
According to him, the Budget leaves Kenyans on their own, adding that the government will have to borrow locally to enable the budget.
