Nakuru County DCP Secretary General Simon Ole Nasieku has faulted Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen over sentiments he made recently regarding goons.
Nasieku, in a statement said it is unbelievable that the CS said that Linda Mwananchi team was to keep off Homabay because the police had warned that there could be goons.
According to Nasieku, this is a communication that the government was aware of the goons but failed to act.
While pointing out that the work of police is to ensure security for all Kenyans, Nasieku was categorical that CS Murkomen has failed in his docket.
“The work of the police is not warn citizens of goons, but should identify, arrest and prosecute the goons while protecting the right of every Kenyan to move, assemble and engage in lawful political activity,” stated Nasieku.
The vocal Nakuru DCP Secretary General now wants the CS to resign.
Nasieku added that Murkomen’s failure in the docket might plunge this country into turmoil.
He expressed his worries that the country might be headed to dark days where criminals control the daily activities.
