Dandelion Africa, County partnership to enhance Maternal Healthcare

Dandelion Africa NGO shall partner with County government of Nakuru towards improving maternal Healthcare.

This was revealed when the County Executive for Health Ms Roslyn Mungai made a tour to Dandelion Medical Centre in Sarambei village of Soin Ward.

In the visit that underscored the power of partnerships, County Executive Committee Member for Health Roselyn Mungai toured Dandelion Health Centre, an integrated social development facility in Soin Ward run by Dandelion Africa.

Since establishment, Dandelion Africa Medical Centre has continued to offer comprehensive outpatient services, a modern maternity unit, and plans to operationalize a theatre.

Ms. Mungai observed exemplary workflow management, a youth-friendly unit, and a well-structured labor and delivery room.

Powered entirely by solar energy, with a sustainable vegetable garden and dairy and poultry farming ensuring organic meals for clients, the centre exemplifies self-sufficiency.

“My learning mission was accomplished,” Ms. Mungai said, after meeting with Dandelion Africa Executive Director Wendo Aszed and her team.

According to Wendo, discussions centered on a partnership to enhance maternal and child health, as well as WASH initiatives, set to be launched in January 2025.

This collaboration promises transformative outcomes for Soin Ward residents.

It should be noted that Dandelion Africa has been running several programs in health matters in Nakuru, Baringo among other counties.

The NGO works closely with women and girls in rural areas.
