Industry and manufacturing remain key drivers of economic growth, job creation, and wealth generation.

Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui says the industry and manufacturing sector should be supported.

He was speaking when he  officially opened the Kenya Industrialization Conference at KICC on Wednesday November 5, 2025.

During the event, Kinyanjui highlighted the policy interventions the Government is implementing to boost the sector.

Among them, reviving cotton growing to support the textile value chain, increasing local manufacturing of motor vehicle parts, and unlocking the potential of our leather industry to raise farmer incomes through value addition.

Kinyanjui pointed out that the Government is also enhancing access to long-term financing for manufacturers through KDC and encouraging financial institutions to adopt similar support for investors in the sector.
