The completion of Lanet Airport will play key role in the economy of Nakuru.
This is according to Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui.
Speaking in Nakuru on Friday August 15, 2025 during a round table with members of the business community, Kinyanjui whom the project was started during tenure vowed to ensure its completion.
CS Kinyanjui committed to engaging the Ministry of Transport to fast-track completion of the Lanet Airport.
He stated that Lanet Airport is a key gateway that will boost tourism and open Nakuru to more cargo trade.
The CS also assured the business community in Nakuru that his Ministry is working to put in place measures and policies that will ensure a condusive environment for businesses to thrive.
He also cited that the government move to construct the Rironi-Mau Summit Highway will create numerous business opportunities for Nakuru residents.
“I am encouraged by the enthusiasm of the business community, especially around the opportunities that the construction of the Rironi–Mau Summit superhighway will create. As business people it is good to align our plans to tap into its potential,” stated Kinyanjui.
The meeting held under the Boresha Biashara Kenya Forum saw an interactive and robust engagement with the private sector in Nakuru.
During the forum, investors and stakeholders openly shared challenges, explored opportunities, and collaborated on solutions to unlock bottlenecks to investment.
MITI also connected businesses to funding avenues and export markets, ensuring ideas translate into action.
The dialogue brought together PS Investments Abubakar Hassan, KenInvest CEO John Mwendwa, CEOs of various parastatals, Nakuru CECM for Trade Stephen Kuria, and representatives from the Nakuru Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Nakuru Business Association, Nakuru Hoteliers Association, and KNCCI.
