Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has urged the Muslim Community in Nakuru to largely back President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027 general elections.
Duale says President Ruto has fulfilled several requests made by the Muslim Community in the country.
Speaking in Nakuru on Thursday October 1, 2026, Duale affirmed that the issues around National Identification cards for pastoralists communities had been addressed under the current regime
He added that, what has been achieved under President Ruto’s regime had not been achieved before, adding that Ruto’s re-election in 2027 will mean more development for the country in various sectors
The CS urged those who have not acquired IDs and registered as voters to do so and come out in large numbers and have their voice count on ballot.
Duale was in Nakuru to commission a landmark Waqf project in Ngala, marking a significant step towards the long-term sustainability of Masjid Rahma Mosque and Islamic Centre and the welfare of the Muslim community.
The six-storey residential and commercial complex will accommodate more than 40 families alongside several shops and is projected to generate upwards of KSh600,000 monthly.
The income will support the Centre’s operations and fund education, healthcare and meals for orphaned children and other vulnerable members of the community.
The project also marked a personal milestone, having begun eight years ago when Duale was National Assembly Majority Leader.
“At the time, I spearheaded the initial fundraising through H.E. President William Ruto, who was then Deputy President,” he stated.
CS Duale commended the Nakuru County Muslim community for its discipline, organisation and foresight, noting that strong institutions can preserve Islamic values while contributing meaningfully to community development.
He further pledged his support for the expansion of Nakuru Jamia Mosque, whose existing facilities are under growing pressure from the city’s expanding population and its role as a major transit hub.
The expansion will increase capacity to more than 1,000 worshippers.
The meeting was attended by Nakuru County Deputy Governor David Kones; Nakuru County Commissioner Dr. Loyford Kibaara; MPs Hon. David Gikaria (Nakuru Town East), MCAs Hassan Duale(Nominated), Fadhili Msuri(Biashara) and Hon. Mohammed Abdikheir (Lafey); Sheikh Mohammed Abdi Umal a prominent Muslim scholar, among a host of religious and community leaders.
