The County Government of Nakuru under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika has announced plans to upgrade two ECDE centres in Nakuru East Sub county.
The centres are at Mirugi Kariuki and Mburu Gichua Primary Schools.
According to the Education office, the move is aimed at ensuring conducive learning environment.
The projects are expected to be ready in 3 months time after they were handed over to the contractor.
The scope of the work include construction of modern ECDE classrooms with ceiling boards, terrazzo floors, gutters, and fixed water tanks.
This underscores the commitment of H.E Governor Susan Kihika in enhancing learning in ECDE centres in the County.
Speaking at the Centres, Janet Bii, the Program Officer for Nakuru East Sub county, along with Public Works Engineer Ogolla, urged the contractor to prioritize quality and adhere to the contractual period.
Sentiments echoed by Nakuru East MCA Anthony Kamau GERU called on the contractor to utilize local skills, to create employment opportunities for youth and for maximum cooperation among stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the project.
