Bahati MP Irene Njoki has sounded a stern warning to illicit brewers in her constituency.
This follows an incident in which three young men in Ndege Ndimu Lanet lost their lives to illicit brew.
According to MP Njoki, the incident calls for urgent need to eliminate the toxic substances that are destroying families.
“I am outraged by the tragic loss of three young men in Ndege Ndimu, Lanet Umoja Ward, due to illicit brews. This incident highlights the urgent need to eliminate these toxic substances that destroy lives and families,” she stated.
The Lawmaker was categorical that the production, distribution, and sale of illicit alcohol is a menace that must end.
This even as a Sunday’s security Baraza in Ndege Ndimu, resolved to the shutdown of three bars—Joy Pub, Waisy Pub, and Adventure—until further notice.
MP Njoki has been vocal on the issue in Parliament, calling for stricter laws and decisive action against this deadly trade.
“I urge the public to come forward with any information. Your cooperation is vital, and I assure you that all details, including those sent to my inbox, will be kept confidential,” she stated.
The MP also used the moment to condole the families that lost loved ones.
She added that the tragedy should strengthen resolve to eradicate illicit brews and secure a safer future for community.
