Bahati Member of Parliament Irene Njoki has reiterated her commitment towards Education for all.
She said Education is key in alleviating poverty in society.
It is for this reason that the MP who is also the Patron Bahati NG-CDF kitty assured parents that through great collaboration with NG-CDF Committee, all learners will remain in school.
The Lawmaker was speaking on Tuesday March 26, 2024 during the issuance of Bahati NG-CDF bursary cheques to school heads in Kiamaina, Kabatini and Bahati Wards.
She reiterated that her promise of free and transparent bursary disbursement process has been fulfilled through the exercise that commenced on Monday where Lanet Umoja and Dundori Wards benefited.
“Today marks the second day of the bursary cheques distribution. I remain committed to ensure free and transparent disbursement. we shall continue to ensure our learners are in school,” she said.
MP Njoki revealed that she is proud of her work in the last one year.
According to her, she has been able to bring more development to the people of Bahati Constituency as compared to 10 years of her predecessor.
Besides bursary, the first time serving MP in Parliament has also commenced the project of ensuring improved infrastructure in school and constant water supply through boreholes’ initiatives for schools.
She is also working on roads under her jurisdiction to ensure accessibility across the Constituency.
