Bahati MP Irene Njoki offers full scholarship for 20 learners joining Form One

The early part of Tuesday January 16, 2024 was a joyous moment at the Bahati NG-CDF office at Mailisita, in Kiamaina Ward as area MP handed over full scholarship to 20 learners from Bahati Constituency who are joining Form one.

The learners were selected from various Wards from humble backgrounds and received full scholarship as well as other necessities Courtesy of NG-CDF bursary kitty under the patronage of MP Irene Njoki.
Speaking to press after handing over the cheques, MP Njoki said matters education are at the core of her heart.
She encouraged the learners to use the opportunity and continue working hard and soaring higher.
Monitoring is an aspect that will continue to take place for the learners who are under full scholarship.
“Make your own future as a learner so that you can also help your parents, family and society at large,. know that the future belongs to you and is in your hands, make the right choices” she stated.
The lawmaker once again challenged parents to continue playing their parental role rather leaving it only to teachers.

According to her, leaving parental role to teachers only will render the children vulnerable.

She stated that she has always told the team to ensure transparency in the whole process.
The Lawmaker noted that she will soon be issuing bursaries to other learners who did not get the Bursary in the first lot.
MP Njoki who is serving her first term in Parliament, also urged residents to rally behind the Kenya Kwanza government under leadership of President William Ruto.
She lauded the Social Affordable Housing Project that is coming up in Bahati courtesy of National Government.
On Security issues, the lawmaker noted that Kiamaina has had challenges in the past, but the security has now been enhanced after intervention of county security team led by County Commissioner.

She added that she will be coming up with a program to keep young people busy and avert from engaging in criminal activities.

The learners though from humble backgrounds, scored 300 marks and above.
David Karanja speaking on behalf of the learners lauded the area MP for the gesture to sponsor them.
They assured the Lawmaker that they will not let her down in their studies and that they will continue to work hard.
“We are very grateful for the sponsorship and we shall not let you down,” stated Karanja.
According to Bahati NG-CDF Fund Manager Hawa Abdul, home visits were made before settling on the learners.
“We did home visits and established the humble backgrounds they come from. As they report to schools up to Thursday this week we hope they will study hard. We worked under short timelines to ensure that the children are able to join High school,” she stated.
Nakuru County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara who also graced the event, reiterated that the government’s agenda on education is very clear.
Kibaara lauded the office of the MP for being in the forefront on matters Education in Bahati.
The administrator challenged learners to take serious their studies even as they proceed to High school.
He encouraged them to work hard in their studies and maintain discipline with respect to teachers and parents.
While lauding MP Njoki for setting pace, the administrator noted that in some areas, corruption has taken lead in matters bursary leading to a situation where the bright needy students are locked out.
On security issues, the administrator who is also the chair of Nakuru County Security Committee, assured residents that he will continue to work closely with the stakeholders to enhance security in Bahati.
Kibaara also took the opportunity to encourage parents on matters agriculture which is key on matters economic.
According to County Commissioner, Bahati is key when it comes to agriculture and the opportunity should be tapped into.
