Nakuru County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara has sounded a stern warning to parents who do not take up matters education for their children seriously.
Speaking in Bahati sub county after witnessing issuance of full scholarship for 20 needy students courtesy of NG-CDF, Kibaara noted that the government has put in place various measures to ensure right of education for all learners.
The County Commissioner wondered why a parent would allow children to stay at home while others are in school.
He pointed out that already instructions have been issued to National Government Administration officers to go round and ensure all children are in school.
“Once all the Form ones have reported to school we shall monitor to see any parent who has denied children right to Education. Such a parent shall face full wrath of the law. Let us not go that direction,” he said.
At the same time, the administrator warned men preying on school girls and also women that their days are numbered.
He stated that the law is very clear on such cases and men who will be found culpable will be dealt with.
“Let me send a warning to men who are preying on school girls. Kindly keep off before the law catches up with you,” he said.
Area MP Irene Njoki on her part called on the County Commissioner to ensure enhanced security in all the wards of Bahati Constituency.
She noted that in the recent past lives have been lost in some areas of Kiamaina Ward.
However, Njoki was quick to point out that she will work closely with the security team in restoring sanity.
“I have had talks with the County Commissioner and Deputy County Commissioner towards restoring sanity in Bahati,” she said.
